Q: How long does it take to learn guitar?

A: Depending on how you define what it means to learn guitar, a good rule of thumb is that if you stick it out for a solid year of practicing regularly, you will have a great foundation laid with all the basics and be able to play some songs.

Q: What is the average cost of guitar lessons?

A: The cost of guitar lessons varies wildly by geographic area if you’re looking for private instruction, though it typically falls somewhere in the $15 – $30 range for 30-minute sessions. This can really add up over time, especially if you take 2-3 lessons/week ($25/lesson x 2 lessons/week x 4 weeks/month = $200/month), which is one of the reasons we recommend looking into taking lessons online (about 90% cheaper).

Q: Why can't access the "Classroom Entrance"?

A: This section is for students that are currently enrolled in either beginner or jazz guitar lessons. If you would like to enroll in either, just click on the appropriate link below.

Q: Are Online or DVD lessons really as good as a private teacher?

A: In general, most people find it helpful to have someone that can answer their questions (which can easily be done online), though the majority of guitarists we’ve talked to don’t like (i) driving to private lessons, (ii) not being able to record/rewind lessons like they can with online videos, and (iii) spending 10x the price just for a little extra 1-on-1 attention. It’s all about personal preference and if you’re willing to invest $100′s/month or not.

Q: How do online guitar lessons work?

A: Our lessons work in a number of ways. There are text, videos and interactive lessons which require you to perform the material and in some cases receive an on the spot grade. Additionally yo are offered the opportunity to schedule lessons with the teacher who have HD webcams and high-speed internet connections, so the video and audio quality will be superb. This is a great tool should you need more specific demonstration of any of the lesson material. There is also, a teachers lounge where you can asked the instructor specific questions and you will receive an immediate response.

Q: Which level do I start?

A: The lessons are designed to be self paced. Students are encouraged to develop in a systematic, step-by step manner, with each new skill dependent upon the student’s mastery of the previous step, so they can make sure that they have mastered the techniques that will lead to long-term success as a highly-advanced player.
